NKBA Manhattan is pleased to announce Felicitas Oefelein has been named our Vendor Excursion Coordinator.

"Just a little over two years ago, I was invited to visit MONOGRAM as a part of a group of NKBA members. I had so much fun, that shortly afterwards I decided to join this great organization. Since then, I have had the opportunity to travel to MTI in Georgia, back to MONOGRAM in KY for their annual Designer Summit, and I just returned from Jenn-Air in Chicago. I am very excited to be in charge of vendor excursions for the Manhattan chapter. Beyond going on fun trips, I enjoy our monthly board meetings and have made some real friends in this awesome community. I moved to New York from Germany over 20 years ago. Now I specialize in high-end residential design and own two companies: FO Design and HomedesignRX. I also taught Materials at Parsons for a number of years, so I have a natural passion for designing kitchens and bathrooms-anything with hard surfaces. I share my home with my cat-man Basil, love to grow herbs and veggies in the summer, and entertain and cook with friends and neighbors in my renovated kitchen."

Congratulations on completing another, we are sure, intensive academic year!
As you are working and enjoying the summer, be open to opportunities to learn more about the industries that supply the world of design.  You might be able to visit a stone yard or quarry and some factories and cabinet companies do offer tours.

Summer is officially upon us and renovation season is in high gear. As I write this, today is Summer Solstice the official beginning of summer and the longest day of the year. More time and attention for our clients! I reflect on how blessed we have been to have such beautiful weather in New York over the last few weeks. We deserve this after the long slog of cold weather. Today is another comfortable and Summer-y day! Keep them coming, Mother Nature.
